There’s a growing national focus, reflected in the UK Government’s PPN 002 Social Value Model, on creating safer streets, reducing harm, and strengthening confidence within our communities.
My women’s self-defence workshops sit right at the heart of this mission.
I’m passionate about helping women feel safer, stronger, and more confident in everyday life, because safety should never feel like a privilege.
The workshops are inclusive, accessible, and suitable for women and girls aged 10+ of all abilities, fitness levels, and backgrounds.
The focus is always on empowerment, confidence, and practical awareness rather than fear or intimidation.
Take Back Our Streets: Building Safer, Stronger Communities
What we do
I work with individuals, groups, and organisations to deliver practical, down-to-earth self-defence training for women, focusing on empowerment rather than fear.
My workshops support:
Practical personal safety awareness and prevention skills
Confidence-building in everyday and higher-risk environments
De-escalation and situational awareness techniques
Empowerment for women who may feel vulnerable in public spaces
Improved wellbeing through confidence, resilience, and self-belief
Inclusive participation for women and girls of all abilities aged 10+
The result is stronger confidence, greater awareness, improved wellbeing, and more resilient communities.
Supporting organisational wellbeing and social value goals
My workshops can form part of a wider health and wellbeing strategy, staff wellbeing programme, safeguarding approach, or community engagement initiative.
For organisations bidding for public sector contracts, I support the strengthening of social value commitments within tender submissions by delivering initiatives that focus on safety, wellbeing, inclusion, and community resilience — particularly in line with the themes outlined in PPN 002.
I deliver workshops for:
Staff wellbeing and confidence-building
Community outreach programmes
Stakeholders and supply chain partners
Local VCFSE organisations and community groups
Schools, youth groups, and community networks
Organisations can also choose to fund workshops for customers, suppliers, stakeholders, or local community groups, creating a wider halo effect of safety, confidence, and empowerment beyond their own organisation.
Support for women affected by domestic abuse
For women for whom home is not a safe space, we offer workshops designed to provide a safe, supportive environment for discussion alongside practical skills that can help create safe distance from an aggressor where needed.
Where appropriate, workshops for women currently living in domestic abuse situations will be badged as creative workshops (including on invoices and receipts). This is done to help protect confidentiality and reduce the risk of escalating situations within the home environment.
Our domestic abuse–aware workshops include:
Practical skills to support de-escalation strategies
A safe, supportive space for women who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, domestic abuse
These workshops do not replace specialist domestic abuse services. Instead, they work alongside wider safeguarding frameworks and community support systems, helping to contribute to safer outcomes and rebuild a sense of control in everyday life.
Our wider impact
Everything we do aligns with the “Take Back Our Streets” mission under PPN 002.
At its heart, our work is about helping women feel more confident, more aware, and more in control — supporting personal safety awareness, wellbeing, autonomy, and resilience in everyday life.
By working with me, organisations are also choosing to support a female-owned micro business. Alongside creating meaningful community impact, this can also contribute towards supplier diversity and social value commitments that are increasingly recognised within public sector and corporate tender frameworks.
For me, this work has always been about people first — creating safer spaces, empowering women, and building something purpose-led that genuinely makes a difference.
Because when women feel safer, communities become safer too.
